Getting Frosty….My Country Road(Inspired by the Genius… Robert Frost
I sit under the canopy of Mimosas and Sycamore trees….. the summer sun tries but cannot reach me and I smile at its vain attempts. This dirt road I often tread has offered many places where I have laid my head and taken a good rest from the strain of transversing it.
I rarely quicken my gait as there is so much at stake for me to absorb and view, and I dare not fail to stop to investigate and introduce myself to a new friend enjoying an afternoon chew.

I have lived along this path that evolved into a road most of my life . I have witnessed its twists and turns altered to make it easier to navigate the curves. It remains a beautiful trail with no distractions of city life, and when the sun lowers its head best have one’s destination in sight . No lights illuminate and its way remains cloaked in the dark of night and be advised not to walk here at night for you will be hard to spot.
My neighbors wave as they pass for trips to town for staples and groceries. A plethora of farm crops abound as they come to harvest and are available at the stands maned by the older members of the family…. passed their time of working in the fields.
I have with my profession as a writer been afforded the occasion to visit various cities across the country to promote my work and do readings which I was initially skeptical of its importance…. but my skepticism has been vanquished as reprints of my work has continued . It strikes me as nothing short of amazing that a countryman recanting his simple life would interest others, however it is enchanting and mysterious in its simplicity and its fundamental attributes that perhaps others not accustomed to this lifestyle may never have encountered or entertained.
The Avenues of the various metropolitan areas I have visited have excitement and movement everywhere. It has an effect on me is in a very short time.
I find myself struggling to focus on any one thing in particular because of the noise and constant shuffle of people scurrying to and fro.
This “ Avenue” of dirt has never wavered in its ability to center and direct me to a direction of peace. I will always live here or near here for the foraging I do along this road feeds and nourishes my soul in the same way Mrs. Haverton’s Shepherds Pie nourishes my body.
Find the path …. the road…. the trail in your life that speaks to you….. it will never run out of things to teach and tell you.
