In a village far away

a little boy was raised

taught the ways of the woods

what is good and when to be afraid

–

the area where he lived was home to a Venomous Snake

there was no cure once one was bitten….death would not be far away

he had seen the Snake from afar and retained its color and it shape

was cautioned not to approach it ….. it could strike from yards away

daydreaming as we are apt to do he walked the path to the lake

started by movement in the brush he saw the dreaded snake

 he had been advised not to move and he shook from head to toe

the snake began to speak and he was amazed at what he saw

“Child you have been wise to be still and hold your ground…… listen to me and your life will be spared and you will learn what few know….. lay down in the path your arms by your side and I have wisdom to impart that will prepare you for a successful life……….”

The boy followed his instructions and the snake mounted and coiled on his chest…… looking him in the eye….. he continued

“ when you are confronted with things you do not understand….. take time to pause and listen to the wind…… lean not on your understanding it is laced with fear….. the world doesn’t offer problems that it has no answers for…. But one will never hear the answer if the time is spent trying to avoid. Take this lesson with you and it will change your life…. There are many paths to follow…… but for each only one is right”

Stop……… look and wait for instructions….. lean not on your own understanding
