Real Poverty…..
There is a poverty that no amount of money can eradicate nor alleviate
that is the poverty of the soul
Possessions …. Notoriety…. Acclaim …. are insufficient in warding off this malady
there is only one deterrent and only one solution
A personal relationship with God
those that have it ….. never are impoverished
poor by world standards …….rich in what matters

In the life I grew up in, it was filled with many trials that had to be endured. Inside and outside our home, there were challenges that seemed never-ending. The family I was raised in was poor. My parents were unable to finish their education, and at that time, only one person was working—our father—especially when we were still young.
Our life then and now is almost no different. Hardship continues, and often we are unable to complete three meals a day. Nevertheless, we overcome hunger and hopelessness.
The lesson of my life is this: poverty is not a reason to give up. Instead, we fight it every day in order to survive the situations and the life that God has given us. God would not give us this kind of life if He did not know that we were strong enough to overcome it.
Therefore, the lesson you have learned should be kept in mind and in your heart, and be grateful for the life you have now, because you are truly blessed.
