The “ tender cannon”…. For the Prodigal Son

The “tender cannon”

doesn’t leave holes that you can see

it wounds cause internal bleeding that often never heal

don’t tell me about your good intentions….. I hear very well…… and one or two kind words aren’t a antidote for spite

so wipe the stupid smile from your face …. Your words are venom and not easily erased

you can hold on to episodes that happened a long time ago

but the actor who played those roles died long ago

but because of your contempt prior to investigation ……. How would you know

that God I’m still agile….. your cannon balls missed

Kind intentions don’t excuse harmful words. Speak to who people are becoming, not who they once were. Love corrects with dignity, not disguised weapons.

This isn’t a rebuttal just a reflection I’ve learned along the way.
