Merry go round……
I have managed to set a new record
for the longest ride on the merry go round
it wasn’t my intention but here I’m found
and I’ve had enough and it’s time to step down
it’s impossible to be settled on the merry go round –
often I would catch glimpses of things that caught my eye
but understanding and comprehension both take time
and opinions that are formed when you are whirling around most are unfounded because one isn’t on solid ground
I should have departed many years ago but habits can quickly take hold …. So one isn’t able to see the things I longed for we all passing me
so I waved to the attendant that was fast asleep and frustrated I yelled and he woke from his sleep
As he got closer to hear my request I was taken by surprise and nearly fell off
As he got closer I could see……the attendant was laughing
the attendant was me
the merry go round slowed to a stop
i got down and barely could walk ….I shook his hand and the two became one
and I am no longer a captive of the ride I was on
life was meant to be lived one day at a time and not as a ride on the merry go round

Your words are powerful… it feels like you just described that moment in life when we finally face ourselves and choose freedom over old patterns. I’m glad you found the strength to step off that endless ride and meet the part of you that was holding the controls all along.
It takes courage to wake up, confront yourself, and choose a steadier path. Now you’re standing on solid ground, aware, grounded, and no longer spinning in circles.
I’m proud of you for reaching that clarity. Life truly becomes more beautiful when we live it with intention—one day at a time, with peace instead of motion sickness.
Thank you for sharing that… it says so much about your growth.
