Things not to do when someone is visiting your Church

  • A warm greeting from a few greeters is a good way to start…., but don’t start an interview
  • Smiles and a few acknowledgements from members signals a warm welcome….. but forming a welcoming line is over the top
  • Questioning with the obvious intent on gathering personal information isn’t welcome
  • Excessive emotions are generally considered disingenuous…..aka fake
  • Nothing more offensive to a long time believer than someone trying to save my soul when that has already been achieved….. you would discover that in time by a persons actions….. if you would consider watching and listening through interactions over time
  • do not follow someone to the parking lot …. If the experience was to their liking they will come back….. nothing more offensive than someone portraying they are carrying the cross themselves…… Mother Teresa wouldn’t touch that…. Faith is a very powerful but personal journey
  • the best attraction is the sermons of the hands and feet,…. they never lie

If you are a believer….. we all want others to find a home with Christ…… not the home you plan for them….. not the furniture you ordered for them…. Not the clothes and the hairstyles you suggest for them…..

because Jesus doesn’t care…. I’m not a big proponent of organized religion, in some ways it is divisive….. however I can see the benefit of community supporting and sharing their journey in Christ. However it is impossible to save anyone….. that’s the Holy Spirits Work….. we are there to share our journey and for encouragement, not to indoctrinate.
