I would readily place my bet on someone who would quickly admit….. how much they do not know

as opposed to a “wiseacre” purporting to have knowledge concerning things they couldn’t possibly know

there is too much information to be an authority on everything ….. some have acquired the intelligence to master several different subjects and areas to merit the title of  “expert” on those subjects…….. that is light years away from “authority on everything “

Everyone has at times come off as a “ wiseacre”

it is neither becoming or embraced warmly
