Buttons……
Waiting for someone….. I took a seat in the Food Court at a mall….. I noticed under the table where I sat a button have found a new home
I imagined it had tired of the drownings and the heat …… so it had made a concerted effort to be released from captivity
started with engaging with any surface where it might latch….. forcing extra effort upon the stitching 🧵 that held it fast
resisting the best it could when directed to a hole turning…. twisting …. slipping out of the approaching grasp had taken its toll
it took some time…. but the plan was concocted and hatched…… now it was free launched by a hand ….. lost and not retrieved ….a vagabond at last
now an unsuspecting foot would send it on its way …… it had grown tired of that captive life and the task of keeping things in place
button ……,no more
