God forbid that I should forget

what it’s like to be a kid

Maturing is both a subtraction and addition

we dismiss childlike behavior and hopefully learn to adjust interactions and responses that are appropriate for the person and situation

we dismiss childlike behavior…… but woe to those who dismiss childlike enthusiasm….. that’s when we turn the page and become “Old”. Old has little to do with age and everything to do with mindset.

We seek to add mindfulness….. consciousness …..consideration…….. but getting lost in loftier ways and forgetting the importance of appreciation for simple things is a terrible trade off.

The challenge is clear…… aspire to have wings 🪽 like a dove and pursue thoughts that are noble and true….. but don’t neglect to take your wings 🪽 off and come down to wade in the creek and watch the sun rise and go down …..

Because a good mix of what is “high” and what is “low” is a good path to follow along life’s roads.

Growing up ….. but not out
