The “Past” came back to visit me

stopped by for a few cups of tea

l felt no threat it would smother me with reminders of events that showed my inability to respect the boundaries of others and myself

those issues are gone …… a few scars linger…. but only a few

what became quickly evident to me

my “old friend” had come as a bookmark a reference point

so I could reflect on the changes and progress I have made …… and what needed improvement

our visit ended in a friendly exchange of respect

walking away the “Past” turned to me

“ Some seek a path of pardon and reconciliation recognizing their mistakes and working to improve their attitude and perspective about themselves and others…… our visit went well because you have chosen that path…… it is not always such a pleasant “Reunion.” I am glad for you and may the lessons of the past continue to guide your steps forward through the days ahead. I will come again….. I pray our next visit will be as pleasant….. that my friend as always is up to you.”
