not to old to try

when I get that way

I would sooner die

Life can become a constant

and that gives me time to rest

but the kind of life I’m after

Has me in a test

I am stretched and pulled

with much uneasiness

the discomfort shows me aspects

that I may have easily missed

you can keep your robes and slippers

they are not for me

God please continue to bless me with muddy shoes
