I have ceased the notion that people will understand

or give ear to consider words before they disappear

few would take the effort that it would take to find a common thread

with so many wandering….. lost inside their head

me…… I discontinue efforts to retrieve people from my past

some assume that time stood still and the chains remain intact

never daring to take the time to see what their theory lacked

so rather than persuade them that lessons were addressed and learned

I throw them into the wash and hang them on the line to dry

keep them stored in a special place in the discontinued line
