It’s always easier to see needs that are in front of me

then those that are by my side

the grandest plans seem logical to me as I overlook the man on his knees in front of me

 because I find easier to be kind to those that merely cross my mind then those I see everyday

because caring for those close to me requires a consistency and a commitment to walk my frivolous talk and live the words I bellow

so just a kind reminder to myself and those who profess to care…..take off those “holy” blinders and first take care of you brothers and sisters that are near
