Walking I came upon an old gypsy moth
I could tell he was older by the wear on the wings and the fading coloration

Struggling to take off and unable to stay airborne for more than a few seconds
After several attempts it resigned itself to take a break
But it was back at it within a few minutes…..unwilling to accept it was over

I’m sure everyone comes to the “last flights of the gypsy moth” and there are many reactions and many frustrating attempts to continue life as before. It’s going to happen and the wise ones do what they can and acknowledge and accept what they can’t.
