Old Ben worked on the docks……..unloading cargo and whatever they brought

He spoke of simple things that were easy to comprehend and was a very wise and kind man

I heard him say “my learning comes from things I see and sometimes they gets ahold of me….Eyes try to pick up bits from everywhere cause best to knows a little bout many things then to knows a lot bout one thing”……….can’t argue with that

Many wouldn’t give Old Ben the time of day, him spittin tobacco bout the color of his skin……wasn’t hard for me to look over what he wasn’t……to see a learned man interpret life and its doings in simple concise terms that became part of the way I view life

you can make it as complicated or as simple as you want………, both require work
