IThere are many things I don’t understand and not sure about what’s going on

I hear the gunshots outside the maze but I quicken my pace and move on

the things I thought were very simple seem confused with right or wrong

and I am still determined to live the best life that I can ignoring what I can’t control

I have no interest in professing my point of view… you can have yours and I’ll have mine seems the reasonable thing to do

But I hear shouts of hatred and sounds of violence and I have no interest in becoming part of it

so I’ll walk this maze and hum the songs that give my spirit a lift

the rest of the world can do what they please and I’ll ignore their chants and I’ll walk among the chaos but I won’t be part of it
