The wounds that are hard to see

The wounds that are hardest to heal are the ones you cannot see

Try our best to cover them but the bleeding comes out through our speech

Caring friends struggle with thoughts that will stop the flow

But sometimes those hidden wounds heal very, very slow

And in the end that’s bittersweet and the pain is slow to go

But unless those wounds are thoroughly cleaned eventually infection will grow

So we must be patient and clean those wounds that are so deep they are going to take time before they close…and even then, a scar will be left behind a reminder to let us know.

Reminders that life can be hard and often it’s unjust.
So fairness is a lovely thought and it is appreciated when it comes, but waiting for a better deal is like bargaining with the sun.
