The Old Man and the Boy

The boy listens to the old man and he laughs that the old man is tuckered out after walking down the hill…..the old man sits on a stump and listens to the bird singing overhead…..the boys runs ahead and can only think of his destination across the meadow. The old man stops to examine a blackberry bush and gathers a handful of berries and keeps walking. The boy has reached the hut where they will spend the evening warm by the fireplace and he is totally exhausted. The old starts the fire and spreads the blankets across wooden bed frames and shares a loaf of bread with the boy. He says in a low tone …ā€you must not waste the time you are in a place with only your destination in mind….. for if you do you will miss the treasure that is in front of youā€…..the boy thought about the old manā€™s words as he drifted off to sleep…….
