how many good things have happened in your life not because your were successful, but because you were willing to try……………………..

i can think of many personally………………i set my sights perhaps a little too high or unrealistically and for whatever reasons settled for better than i was…………..because i was willing to try…………………….

a fable suggests : ”there was an apple in the tree and it looked delicious to me, but as my statue did not allow me to reach the apple from the ground, i needed to be lifted up a bit and a log was the only help i could find……..it had been part of a trunk that had fallen perhaps due to age or storm………covered with moss and wet, it was slippery but that apple had peaked my interest……..positioning the log, i mounted it and rose to my toes, which caused me to lose my balance and i tumbled to the ground……..laughing i turned my head to discover a beautiful apple in the brush that obviously had recently fallen………it was a beauty and i sat on the ground enjoying the apple………..looking at the apple in the tree……..grateful for having spied it and grateful that i had made the effort to retrieve it………..i didn’t get what i wanted, but i got something good…..
