praying in the rain

distraught i continued on my way, seeking shelter from the rain

soaked to the bone an abandoned shed gave a reprieve from the storm

my pack was soaked but buried within were matches, tobacco and a pipe

and i gathered wood from a corner and was able to start a fire

an old chair afforded me a chance to rest my feet

and in an abandoned shed i was grateful to garner such relief

i continued my prayer as i was just beginning the journey in front of me

my needs have always been met as long as God was leading me

the morning sun made steam as the water was taken up to be stored, once again the Lord provided, shelter from the rain
