feelings: friend and foe, robber and giver

verse by Captain Beefheart ” CRAZY LITTLE THING, CRAZY LITTLE THING, HOW DID YOU MEET A THING, LIKE CRAZY LITTLE THING, JUST GONE CRAZY, JUST GONE CRAZY”

couldn’t think of a better definition of feelings

they can give such elation and joy and rake sandpaper over an open wound

you have to learn to ride them better than any rodeo champion

can’t let them get you to high or get you to low

i know you have seen this happen, a person bursting with joy showers the unsuspecting person with torrents of praise and admiration and it’s all they can do to keep from drowning, flailing arms and gasping for air…………get me out of here………………leaving the presenter dumbfounded

another time you see someone trying to administer guidance and direction, starting off slow, the receiver is all ears, giving the sense they appreciate the concern, then the presenter realizes he has their attention and God forbid an audience…………..the tone and the volume steadily increases and that need to be an example of correctness and authority creeps in…….. and a friendly, caring mentor turns into a tent revival preacher and suddenly the intended receiver is worried about being lynched……………………..running for his life

a little of anything goes a long way…………..especially emotions

these rants are really for me, but i sincerely hope some enjoy them, i am not a teacher but a discoverer……………….discovering and uncovering things as i try to relate to you

in a resource manual that i love and refer to constantly, i have always been perplexed with a reference to quality of faith as opposed to quantity of faith

i reason it now to having a large collection of timepieces of marginal value, which i have, to a smaller collection of higher quality watches which i would now prefer

elation in myself must be monitored as well as defeat

feelings can be my dear friends or my fiercest foes

and the best are pretty mundane……..by themselves they wouldn’t make for a very exciting life, but remember a little goes a long way and predictable is comforting……………….at least to this old fart

when in doubt always choose silence
