I’LL TRUST THEM, BECAUSE I DON’T TRUST ME

those men who walked along the shore

mending nets and building ships

followed a man who taught them how to fish for men

to show them a better way to live this life and spend their days

in the presence of the King, the maker and builder of everything

they were men and they had their doubts, days when they thought

they were better without the rules that they would follow and teach

but life showed them they were wrong and they returned and went along

so i will let their judgment stand as a witness and command

this life of love and joy comes with a price each must pay

and that price is to trust them instead of me
