feelings aren’t facts, don’t start to defend yourself

no one is trying to take yours away

you have so much invested in them you couldn’t possibly be willing

let them go without a fight

but no one is attempting the operation, wouldn’t do any good, if you didn’t agree it was needed

they would just regenerate

fear will ask us to climb on board and push out from the shore

offers us a glass of wine and rows as the birds fly overhead

the sun is setting and hear a faint sound of water moving up ahead

fear tells us to relax and enjoy our journey for it has just began

we see him throw the paddles out and wonder what is going on

he gives a smile and waves goodbye and jumps into the water

i hear the sound of roaring water in the distance up ahead

he reaches the shore and i hear a laugh and his words are barely audible

” you let me in now it’s sink or swim, you let me set the coarse, and anytime you let fear define your life, you will always be off course”

i jumped in the water and fought to make it to the shore, exhausted i watched as the boat tumbled over the rocks

as it started to break apart, these words were given to me

”fear is the enemy and it will entice you with it’s charm

and when it has you where it wants, it will take away everything you have learned”
