i sit with my grand-daughter and we read a book, now i’m much older but she shows me where to look

to see the small things my intelligence overlooked, gives me cause to think who is wise

we walk by the brook and i hear the water flow over the rocks, she raises her hand and she beckons me to stop

she says do you hear the turtle crossing the stream, i look at her puzzled not sure what she means

she takes me to an eddy and i see a small turtle flailing to reach the shore

i smile at the enlightened child and whisper” please show me more”
