digger

i became a digger when i made a commitment to find

how life and my issues have influenced my mind

how intense and how deep i go depends on what’s going on and what i need to know

we are intact when we enter this world and between our parents passing on their fears

and the curves we are thrown, we develop habits that keep us safe, but stunt our growth

so by no virtue of my own, wise council has encouraged me to look inside and separate the truth from what i have called the truth

it is a prerequisite before you start a dig that you are fully aware you may not like things that are revealed

but the undoing and clearing of the underbrush of our mind is totally contingent on our willingness to accept, forget like, what we find

takes courage to be a digger, a searcher of ones’ soul but is the only way to clear the path that leads to our purpose and the real reality

get a good shovel and wear gloves, careful where you dig there are mines everywhere

and you won’t remember where you placed them
