but everything will be alright, because it was just a day

this world will shake you up and knock you down

make you feel foolish and confound

make you think you are a clown

unless you remember, it was just a day and not a life

sometimes it’s hard to turn around, pick yourself up off the ground

brush your hair from your face and rejoin the human race

forgot about being singled out, get off your pity pot

it now seems far away, that day when you thought you were shot

but those days will come again to test your mettle and your friends

and if you will take it bit by bit then you will be able to sift what it was meant to teach

and that lesson you file and have it ready for your nest trial

because if it doesn’t hurt we don’t learn
