this family that You have given me is never what i expect

at times very small things can throw us into a spin

and other times things that are hard we pull together and march right in

often we are weak when i thought we would be strong

and sometimes we are strong when i thought we would be weak

there is an elastic cord that connects us and it stretches and keeps us together

when the wind blows

different people step up to lead as situations arise

this family is complicated, and as diverse as the leaves on a tree

but……………………we are still on the tree
