i had both guns loaded and i was coming after you

pissed me off that someone said something attributed to you

so i setup the encounter and walked in ready for a fight

what happened next changed my mind and hopefully will affect my life

i laid out the accusation in no uncertain terms, you started smiling and that really

made me burn

and you asked for my indulgence if i would give you the opportunity

to shed some light on the situation and perhaps change my point of view

i listened to your account of the version of events and you suggested one particular thing

that when i considered it made sense

that if we look a little closer at the teller of the tale

history would support the claim they often meant other ill

i listened as you spoke and your words had a certain ring

later when i shared the incident with a friend they said that was the sound of truth

so you totally disarmed me and you said given the same situation you would have been upset as well

but we left as friends that day and remain to this day still

i wanted to tell the real offender where i wanted them to go

but a voice whispered in my ear ” they are sick, but now you know”
