need versus want has us stumped

and we succumb to it’s pull from time to time

not trying to say that things we would like to come our way

are not worth doing the work

but i have to look to see if it’s just about me

then whatever it is will never retain it’s envisioned worth

and in the end i am left with things that leave me shaking my head

and wondering, ”,what the hell was i thinking…………….i wasn’t”
