if i call you friend there are certain things i must do

and certain i cannot do

i must respect you though we won’t always agree

to give you the space to be what you want to be

as i would like you to do the same for me

to listen as you share your life, without the need to make it wrong or right

there is a cost for all we do, costs me just like it costs you

and when that price becomes to great we leave those things or accept our fate

i will tell you if i have a concern and you can decide if their is a lesson to be learned

and i would hope you would do the same for me
