its a cookie cutter world

and everyone fighting to fit in

wearing the same clothes

trying to have the same skin

i just have to laugh because it all seems surreal

but walk in a big city and you will see what i mean

to be part of a fad has little interest to me

or any of the people i care to meet

a prerequisite of someone i would like to befriend

is that they are not governed by this world nor its’ trends

i am not a fan of things that come and go

i am drawn to value that only time can bestow

so if you see me smile because your suit is too tight

and your hair looks like you’ve been in a fight

i am sorry my friend you can do what you like

but i am not impressed because you are ruled by the times
