you come and we sit and you share with me

things going on in your life

i try to listen and bridle my mouth

because you pay no attention to suggestions i make

retracting and saying it isn’t that bad after you say you are living in hell

i suppose you spiritual life is pretty strong indeed,

otherwise you wouldn’t have been able to go through these things

without resorting to a drink

these things i see you endure are a model of co-dependency

but it is your life and i know you feel you are doing whats right

so i’ll just try to listen, praying that’s enough
