may my gratitude walk before me

so that it is obvious to see

that what has been accomplished in my life

has little to do with me

that what has been done is a wayward man

was led to freedom from captivity

the prison i escaped from had no bars that one could see

yet it kept me bound and gagged for what seems an eternity

so i cried out in my desolation to a power i could not see

and when He came he changed my life

which should be obvious to see

so i stand before you and pray my gratitude walks before me

as a testimony to what God can and will do, setting the captive free
