i saw an old friend today and he was away from his demon alcohol

he seemed like the same old guy i used to know before the bottle cut him down

it was back and forth like myself for years, and each time it was worse

but he said he hadn’t had a drink in over a year and this time i hope it sticks

old friend it’s good to have you back, seeing you made my day and i told you to call me anytime if you were fighting off a drink

we all go through our Waterloo’s and some like you and me set up camp and hang-out for years

never realizing we just needed to keep walking

pray for me and i’ll pray for you

just another example that God can do anything
