when subtraction becomes addition

deciding there where things i could do without

opened up some avenues and a chance to sort things out

letting go of people, places and things that no longer met my needs

seems like all of a sudden it’s easier to breathe

sometimes one just has to stop and look at what they keep

and often uncover baggage they have been dragging down the street

letting go of obstacles that we had made into pets, we take an honest look and realize that fear didn’t pay the rent

so we pack them up and send them on their way no longer willing to let them occupy space inside our head

we condition ourselves to accept things in the long run we know are wrong and toy with the idea we can change them, so we can prove others wrong

but when the lightning strikes and splits that massive towering tree, we make a decision to let go, fearing next time it could be me

doesn’t matter how we dress them they never come across very well, and others can see how reluctant we are to be honest with ourselves

so getting rid of clutter that has been filed and stored, makes room for new thoughts and opens many doors

less is more
