it comes with your first breath

before you can speak or take your first step

a seed is planted in your heart and mind

there is something, you are compelled to find

it never leaves you and it tangles up your mind

you question everything and look for clues or a sign

you travel the alleys and paths others took

finally realize their route wasn’t yours

so you become disillusioned with your progress thus far

you ask something you can’t see or touch if it would consider

lending you a hand because you have run out of ideas, you find a seat and sit down

your shoulders drop and you start to relax and it seems like your mind is receiving a text

i thought what i was looking for was myself……………..that person behind the curtain that’s afraid to come out….. and that part is true……………………………but what i have come to realize ‘Father’ i can’t get there without you

because i am human, fearful and confused i don’t have the wisdom to find what i am looking for without You
