i had this dream, i think i know what it means but i’ll let you decide for yourself

the smell of smoke roused me from my sleep

i opened the bedroom door and fire was racing up the stairs, all i could see was flames

i had placed escape ropes in the upstairs bedrooms for an emergency escape route

everyone else was visiting grandparents and i was alone

the dog was with the rest of my family……………….i was on my own

i opened the window and the oxygen made the fire explode, i had to hurry

the night was as dark as alabaster and i slowly lowered myself, i was going to make it, the house was not

i could feel the end of the rope with my bare feet and it was coming soon

i was at the end and i could not touch the round, i started to panic

how far was i from the ground, i simply couldn’t see

it seems like hours and my arms were screaming, i used my legs to help support myself but they were giving out as well

i braced myself, i knew this was going to hurt, i just didn’t know how bad

i let go and touched the ground in a split second, i was about three feet from the ground

the fear that had its grip on me made me think of my family and somehow i knew i had to let go of this control and fear thing…………………….i was no longer in charge

3 feet and i was terrified

fear has its place but it cannot lead
