the fair is in town, it’s not going away

they found enough people who where willing to pay

and as the tickets keep getting higher, the smart ones walk away

but there will always be some that are willing to stay

looking for that chance to see what they have never seen, to be one of the first to live the dream

winning the prizes behind the screen, taking them home and realizing they aren’t worth a thing

the fair is in every town, and there it will stay as long as there are people willing to pay for a chance at winning the biggest prize of all, a ticket to ride the cannonball

you know where they put you is a cannon and shoot you into the sky as close as you will ever come to being able to fly

and when you start coming down, you look for the net, but the carnies have been drinking and sometimes forget

so as you land and your face enters the ground, the greatest show on earth…. has let you down

so the moral of this story is appreciate what you’ve got…………………….they will always be someone trying to sell you a slot to take you places that put you in a box

the fair is always in town it won’t go away…………………..because the people running it know people will always pay

for a shot to go where they have never been before, be careful what you wish for……………….and where you explore
