hey, i got news for you

if you are out there tryin’ to do right

they will be gunnin’ for you

sometimes it’s your family, people you meet

old friends or people on the street

but the bullets will be flying, that i can guarantee

some will come in the form of sarcasm or  off-hand remarks

some will feel like daggers, sometimes dull, sometimes sharp

so get yourself ready they are waiting outside your door

nothing would make them happier if they think they have scored

don’t bother to bob and weave, you are gonna get hit

but let me suggest how to handle it

let it pass through, open your mind and don’t even flinch

let them pass through and they will be amazed, they will really start firing when you didn’t even move and they know damn well that they hit you

the irony is that the crap you don’t accept boomerangs back to them and hits them in the head

”why isn’t he responding I put a lot in the punch and I don’t see a reaction, wonder what’s up?”

the best advice I have been given came from a recovering drunk

he said ” if you are able to learn to control your emotions and not be ruled by them, there is nothing that can stand in your way from enjoying a life that isn’t ruled by fear”
