you took the time to prepare your mind, by clearing off the spot

taking all the sticks and rocks and smoothing out the bumps

turned the land gently to expose the dark rich soil and put in the fertilizer just as you had been schooled

now the seeds go in the rows deep enough to protect them from the sun until their roots have grown to draw the moisture that they will need

water from the pond and water from the Lord bring forth the little sprouts to stand erect and tall

you nurture them by raking around their base, so the soil is loose allowing their roots to spread

then they bring forth their fruit and God whispers in your ear:
