i found what i was looking for

it wasn’t over there…………………………or next door

turns out it was always near, but i was so busy talking………………………i could not hear

the quiet little voice that asks me to be still, sit down and drain the nonsense in my head

just relax and let myself go into the presence of God

oh sure i can complicate it, make it a big deal and wriggle and twitch, but if i can remember that i’m not in charge

then i can find a better way

often the path i would choose would seem obvious as it was marked and cleared

time has taught me that isn’t always the way i’m supposed to go

sometimes i’ll get lost and wonder why i was led this way
