lost in translation

words will get you close……………………………………but not completely there

it’s like taking a train and the train stops about a mile from your destination………………………..the conductor comes through the car and informs you that the tracks have been damaged by a rock slide and you will have to walk the rest of the way

wouldn’t it be great if you could import people in certain situations so they could see firsthand what you later try to describe as best you can……………………….if your vocabulary and memory is good you could get close but you still have that last mile

the gadgets we have today can take pictures, videos and they can be sent minutes after the actual occurrence…………but it still isn’t the same as being there

so we fill in the spaces we think we are missing and pretend we are there………………. and end up with a pretty good idea of what actually happened

but there is still that last mile we have to deal with………………………..and it will always be there, unless we are there

some is always lost in translation………………………………………….knowing that eliminates any possibility of perfection

we do the best we can with what we have…………………………..and that is just the way it is

you will never really completely know anyone………………………………..because much is lost in translation

take your time walking that last mile
