everyone knows when it’s time to let go

but we fight reality and pray it’s not so

until the obvious won’t go away and we start to defend

actions and behavior that never should begin

so we muddle along and cover as best we can

hard to make an elephant look like a lamb

we go through the motions, no need to pretend

everyone is wondering when it will end

will it be in and overdose or killed in a car

trying to get to the nearest liquor store

and you can spend the rest of your life wondering

what if i had let go………………………what might have happened then

you my friend will never know, unless you finally have the courage and strength from God to let go
