i keep a little song going on, somewhere in the back of my mind

often i hum a few bars and i know people wonder what’s going on

but life goes on from day to day, filled with those who want and those who need

i try to be the one, that is happy, joyous and free

so that little song will come out at the strangest times, when i need a lift or a pause

it helps me remember everything is fine, no one needs my opinion, and i’m not in charge

so confusion and chaos will often try to corrupt my day, but you see i have this little song and it’s never a sad melody

perhaps you should find your own little song and hum it throughout the day, it won’t guarantee you that everything will be fine

but it kind of keeps me out-of-the-way
