Texas
sometimes the last thing we need /is the first thing we need
sometimes the BIG GUY will throw something at us to shake us out of the misconception that we are in charge…………………………..if we don’t see that…………….
when the water left thousands stranded on roofs, trees, bridges……………………no one was saying ” can you send the white boat over or does the black life-raft have room for two?”
—————————————————————————————–
a parable: two little boys were playing in the park, the wind picked up and the sky grew dark, they had never met but adversity was the spark that lead then to hold each other’s hand
they ran to the shelter and waited for the storm to pass, they shared their names and shared a laugh………….the storm passed over and the sun came out they both felt relieved………………………….. both gave a shout
they went their separate ways back to their homes, they see each other at the park and remember the storm…………the words their parents speak about” leaving them folks alone”……………………………somehow don’t make sense
———————————————————————————————–we are a great nation handicapped from old ideas that we refuse to let go
society colors me white……………………actually I’m anything but white more like ruddy reddish
society colored these people black, actually they were more brown then black…………they were important people in my life and i love them, Walter Cook, Tim Sharpe, Donnie Carolina, Charlie Wade, Red, Ben Ervin, Gerry Goode, Mr. Brown, Joe S., the list could go on and on
i will not suggest that I am never prejudice……………..I think it is normal to feel different about things we are not………………….that stems from fear…… and     feelings aren’t facts………………. we learn to move pass these feelings when they don’t work………………………love is bigger and better than color, race or religion
the waters will recede and things will be put back in place over time          those that were lost will be lost in vain if the survivors remember the hands that reached out to them pulling them to safety as being black or white
it was Texas but it could have been anywhere
cut the colortree down and plant flowers, orchids are my favorites
many, many, many rivers to cross…………………………Jimmy Cliff
