i insisted on experiencing as much as i could/ didn’t matter how crazy it was/ how dangerous it was or how expensive it was, it i could come up with the money…………………………………..we gone

but experience without understanding is similar to fishing without bait……….the chances of you catching something are very slim

when you go through events under the influence you might have a good time, some of the time, but there is no way you can really appreciate  the experience, you miss a lot

i spent two weeks in Jamaica cloud hoping, feet touching the ground occasionally, at the time i thought i was living the life…………….. looking back i can see how close i came to losing my life           i just barely got out…… the authorities where wondering why my traveler checks were showing up in very questionable places…………………… and they wanted to talk with me                                 ———————————————————————————————–

so eventually, many years later, i stopped drinking and using and I was still doing the same thing, racing through life catching glimpses of what i was passing at breakneck speeds

you will do much of what you did under the influence until you see how crazy it is and you stop                sometimes it takes awhile and it pisses you off, and others as well             just the way it goes         it takes time

you walk twenty miles into the woods, you got to walk twenty miles out

maybe you’re smarter than me, if you are young forget it you won’t listen to this old geezer anyway, but slowing down and being totally where you are is a prerequisite to having a good life and appreciating and grasping what the hell is going on
